Position Summary

As a technical Project Manager you will belong to the Global Services team, taking on a very broad responsibility for the successful end to end delivery of software projects for our existing and future customer base. You will have to be a talented communicator in both commercial and technical contexts: able to quickly grasp and explain complex engineering software concepts while being just as comfortable with complex commercial negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple software & services delivery projects in accordance with published project governance and quality standards Communicate with customers to understand how they utilize software to solve their business challenges
  • Develop a trusted relationship with the customer through delivering their requirements
  • Manage customer expectations and satisfaction by providing excellent project management and effective negotiation of changes to project scope
  • Demonstrate effective leadership by serving as single point of responsibility for all aspects of assigned projects and by mentoring project managers and associate project managers
  • Oversee project team interactions coordinating project elements and communicating project progress, both internally and to customers
  • Plan transition of responsibility to support team once project delivery is complete
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities, including Lessons Learnt, and apply them in new projects.

Job Requirements

  • Strong experience working in a software & services project management role, ideally within the petroleum industry or another process industry
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to understand and explain complex technical topics
  • Ability to identify issues and risks, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to work in a team environment
  • Proven experience with the full Software Delivery Life Cycle.
  • Experience working with formal project methodologies (e.g. APM PRINCE 2, PMI/BOK) and possess associated accreditation (e.g. PMI PMP, IPMA Level C, PRINCE2 Practitioner)
